I am curious to know if there are other non-Christians here with an attraction to the Magdalene, and if so, whether or not they include her in some respect in their spiritual practice.

I'm fairly eclectic myself--also a pagan. I describe myself as a Neoplatonic Orphic. *g*

Agreed on the bone throwing. I'm very attracted to women who fulfil the archetype of the Divine Bride to the Divine Bridegroom, and the Magdalene fits the bill nicely.

Sounds like you have an exciting trip ahead of you! I am envious. Do post about it afterwards, will you? :)

I used to be a Christian, however I'm not any longer. I currently consider myself an agnostic-leaning-atheist. I'm still very attracted to Mary Magdalene... I don't include her in my spiritual practice anymore, but I used to.

I had a brief period in which I gave her up in my life to become more immersed in the dogma of my faith which denied her as being a part of another religion, but numerous events dragged me back and I'm all the happier for it.

Dogma kills my soul. :P

I'm an atheist (that is, I don't believe in any sort of deity), but I believe in the past existence and humanity of Jesus and Mary Magdalene.

I only call myself Pagan when I'm with people who understand what that means. When I'm amongst the superstitious and rightious I tone it down to "omni-theist" (I take a little bit of everything into a mesh that works for me).

I've had a difficult time with Jesus. I tend to be driven away from Christianity by the people who claim to speak for him and his meaning. But the concept and spirituality of Mary Magdalene is very magnetic for me. I'm very much drawn to the divine feminine. If Christianity was more geared toward the divine feminine and less toward dogma, I would incorperate a lot more of Christianity into my theisms.

I don't practice any rituals but my thoughts drift to her frequently and then subsequentily to her male counterpart.

I'm not exactly Christian, nor fully Pagan yet. I have left the church however to be able to study religion from a more objective point of view. Though a Female Devine and the Power of Nature is for me a more attracting, more "realistic" kind of belive than what the bible uses to tell ( ... )
