well that is certainly a fantastic start - I'm so glad Mary managed to get someone write this is was certainly begging for a decent treatment.

hmmmm - a cream to blur your features so that you can't be recognised, all the victims so far are from Ravenclaw and all female. I shall have to try and keep up with the hints/clues as they come.

I hope you don't mind but I'm gonna friend you so I can keep up.

Thanks! I'm glad you like it so far. You've summed up the clues pretty well. Hopefully I can keep the suspense going until the end (which I already envision being tough to do).

I'm fortunate to be able to work with Mary on this one. She has been kind enough to consult on this project, which means that I will hopefully stay true to her vision of the original idea. Thanks for your comments! - Mike

You've elaborated on Mary's white flower murders in an exciting way. All the victims are former Ravenclaw female students disfigured and killed painfully. The murderer obviously is settling old scores.

I hope she doesn't go after Hermione next.

At this point in the story, if I was a former Ravenclaw female around the age of 40, I'd be jugging the polyjuice potion or beating a hasty retreat out of England. I can honestly say that Hermione is not the next victim (she's not Ravenclaw). Who oh who could be the next victim. Hmmm...Oh the possibilities.

Mary's vignette was crying out to be expanded. I'm excited to be the one expanding it and quite honored that she takes the time to mentor me through this piece. That says a lot about her character right there, and all of it good! Thanks for leaving your comment! - Mike

I'm delighted that you're building on St.M's drabble--that was my favorite of them, and I'm really excited about this.

Thanks! I tried to get St. M's to do it, but somehow ended taking it on myself. How does she do that? My favorite was the vignette between Ginny and Fluer. I found it very insightful. That being said, The White Rose was a plot line begging to be expanded into a longer story. Thanks for leaving a comment! - Mike

PS - Don't let St. M fool you. Even though she claims to not be very good at writing thrillers, she made a number of suggestions that really impacted the quality of this piece. She's crafty, that one.

Hello, m_and, I am a long-time reader of St. Margarets' work, and got here to this story through her post. I have friended you so that I can follow your story; I hope you don't mind. Thanks for taking up the thread from her wonderful story and fleshing it out. Looking forward to how this develops!

Hello bettb:

Glad you're enjoying the story, and thanks for letting me know that (it's what we authors crave since we can't sell this for money). I certainly don't mind you "friending" me (I replied back to that, hopefully it went through).

St. Margaret's vignette was begging to be fleshed-out, and while I didn't beg her to do it, I did try to get her to write it (how cool would that have been?). She did agree to consult on this project and she has done a fabulous job in that role.

Thanks for leaving me your comments! - M

I read this over at SIYE and hoped that I reviewed, but I am not sure so I thought that I would leave you a quick note to tell you how much I am enjoying this! I check SIYE once a day for an update! This is different and I like different. Can't wait to see where you take it!

Hello 88rocketman!

I checked over on SIYE first before responding, your review did not come through - not sure what happened but glad you responded here. This is easily the most different type of story I've attempted, but I've really enjoyed writing it so far. A lot more details and planning to wade through so that the mystery is slowly revealed. It'll be a couple of weeks until chapter two. Work and family are my first two priorities, which leaves me late at night to write, but I'm plugging away at it. Thanks for your comments! - M

Hi! Since it's Mary's fic rec & it's H/G... headed here in your journal and read the first chapter. Wow, it's a very good start to a murder mystery. It's rare that we get to read this type of story, so thank you for taking on this challenge.

H/G still very much in love and a happy family, yes, that's the kind of future he deserves :-)

Hi ginny88! It's not just Mary's fic rec. The seed idea for the story is actually her's as well. She's also consulting with me on the writing of this one, so she's quite involved in this project. All to the betterment of the story I say. It most definitely is a new type of story for me, but I like the challenge. Learning my craft and trying new things is why I write fanfic (that, and I enjoy it). I'm glad you like it. Hope to have the second chapter done soon.

It has been cool working with Mary. I've picked up some good tips about writing, but more importantly I've really enjoyed the collaborative process.

I'm almost done with chapter two, and hope to post soon. Thanks for your interest in the story! - M
