So apparently 'The Nine' goes bye-bye after all. ABC threw some vague promises about it returning sometime later this season, but I'm not feeling particularly optimistic.
And it's a shame they took it off. Granted, from all my shows, it's 'The Nine' that I would miss the least, but I was actually starting to get attached. So, no, it's not cool.

I will definitely miss Ricky and Ron on S60, though -- I actually thought especially Evan Handler (Ricky) managed to antagonize Matt without acting like a villain. He was a much better actor than I think the character called for, though, because I never considered him stupid or "beneath" Matt in any way. He was a great foil, and I will miss him on the show. Too bad Ron couldn't have just left by himself. Without Ricky, who's going to put Matt in his place besides Danny?
Jordan was actually not bugging me (though her comedic timing is still not great) until the very last scene. She was actually acting like a network exec and not their best buddy...until she wanted to go with them and watch the show over? No, that's a job for Matt, Danny and Cal -- not YOU, Network President. :/ She can't keep talking out of both sides of her mouth like that -- either she's their friend or she's their boss ( ... )

I seriously doubt volleyball counts as an official sport in any country. Even Poland is much more a football country. Or soccer country, if you prefer this nomenclature.
I actually thought especially Evan Handler (Ricky) managed to antagonize Matt without acting like a villainThat's exactly what I liked having him around. He wasn't a bad guy, he just had a different opinion that Matt. And not necessarily an inferior opinion, just different. He had his reasons, too ( ... )

Harriet's part of the story was definitely the weakest here. I like Harriet ok most of the time, but the storyline she got here was pretty senseless.
Ricky was a very neatly constructed character. Matt's foil but not a villain. And a character that let us see what a condescending narcissist Matt can be (ok, I might have exaggerated a bit, but it is an opinion I'm really standing by, because it makes Matt, probably my favorite S60 character, so much more interesting). It sucks that he's going away. Ron too, but it's not like Ron is really a character of his own, he's more like Ricky's extension.
I really hope these two will pop up at least for a cameo sometime in the future but I really don't think it's going to be anytime soon. Shame.

Exactly. I've always thought flaws are the most interesting elements of a person's character. Of course, I also tend to go with that approach perhaps a bit too far at times and I end up rooting for the villains instead of the heroes (except in, well, real life). 'Studio 60' doesn't have villains, but it has something even better, it has legitimately flawed lead characters (so, ok, some of them could be given a flaw or two more, but the show has a very neat average anyway). It works more on the plot and the funniness, and it might turn out to be one of the best shows on air.
