Hehe. I always wonder who will emerge from the woodwork when I make these once in a million years posts. How the hell are ya? Are you still living around here? Do you want to hang out? This weekend?

Nice salad greens. I work at an organic farm in Arcata, and we grow all manner of greens for various salad mixes. I'm doing three farmer's markets a week until August when school starts again. I can see tot soi, cayuna and amranth in your salad. Alas! The condensation obscures the rest. I have become a salad nerd. I know.

Good luck on your fresh organic local meal. I'm confident it will be a succulent success.

Hi Laura!

I totally dig salad nerdiness and it is completely welcome in my journal comments. Encouraged even.

And to satisfy some further salad geekery:

Aha. Now I can clearly see the Napa Cabbage, Curly Cress, Spinach, Green Giant and a green that's a mystery to me. It's the flat, serrated edge leaf in between the burger buns. Ay, the nerdiness! I went to the farmer's market today and bought starts of sweet, thai, cinnamon, purple and lemon basil. Oh yes, I am a lover of the basil. One of the new farm boys lives two blocks from me and he has a nice hillside thicket that we're going to turn into a garden. I want to build a greenhouse to grow tomatoes and cukes.

I'm going to be in Boston July 30 until August 4. If you have free time, I'd like to get together.
