I was trying to not to make comparisons to Farscape but then there was the plan thing and all I could think was "Crichton and his plans". And then they went and kicked me in all the Zhaan feelings.
I've been calling it Farscapey since the first previews. That is, however, a compliment in my world. Because Farscape is like the pinnacle of goodness in my space opera lexicon (if I compare something to ST Voyager, otoh...).
However, I was giggling at the idea of shoving everyone into Farscape roles--because while there is some fit, there isn't as much. ahem.
Quill = more Chiana than John Crichton, except for the pop culture references. Gamora = Aeryn, except that she already had emotion and understood it way better than Aeryn did. Rocket = Rygel, but with John's crazy tech skills Drax = D'Argo... ok, yeah, there's really no one else he matches (because dead wives! FINGERS CROSSED this means that Drax's daughter will show up at some point and we will get Moondragon on our screens) Groot = Zhaan, but without all the philosophy. And a bit more Pilot.
I did, I admit, constantly go, "It's a John Crichton plan, guys. But it's the only plan we got." (even with Rocket's break-out plan)
