1. I re-read DragonFlight because of AM's passing. I love Lessa so much. She had to be one of the first strong women characters I was exposed to. (I don't believe Troi classifies as such a character.)

I think she was one of the first in book-form, for me. (Lessa, that is). And she sort of set the pattern--I liked women who took charge and loved fiercely and let nothing stand in their way. (Killashandra Ree sort of embodies that, too)
