Well, YAY, then! This and "Marginalia" are actually the only two poems of his I know, but I really like both of them. :)

oh my gosh Marginalia is my FAVORITE. the only other i can think of off the top of my head is "Another Reason I Don't Keep A Gun In The House".... or something similar.

funny thing: I just made an entry about a poem totally unaware of this intriguing thing called poetry month! also that probably answers my question why I'm suddenly back into poetry - IT'S IN THE AIR ;)

also I like that poem you posted. Even though I can enjoy a poem simply for the beauty of it's words and the flow of language--- sometimes it's nagging at me forever to try to figure out WHAT EXACTLY the author wanted to say. But then again I probably wouldn't be a good language student if I didn't from time to time do that ;)

Heh. Poetry month is probably on a lot of people's minds. :)

Oh, I totally like analysing things. But I think he was talking about what a lot of (esp) high school classes do to poems (and novels, and any writing, really), which really IS like torturing it -- "This symbol means BLAH because I've repeated exactly what the teacher said." UGH.
