Niou and Sanada have an odd relationship in this 'verse. They rag on each other a lot, but they've bonded in a weird way. (Mostly because Sanada wanted to hunt down every last one of Yukimura's previous lovers and kill them for hurting him, and because Niou'd already taken care of it.)

*laughing* Niou tracked down a few of the worst offenders and did something permanent and messy, yeah. Not that it ever gets mentioned in the story, of course. That's just -- background, I suppose.

He's very protective of his oyabun.
