Introducing the Beverage Theory

Apr 09, 2011 11:19

This post/picspam has been a long time coming. And by 'long time' I mean at least ten years, which is insane and shows you exactly how long I've been geeking over fandom. Anyway, back in the day, gabriellemb and I were amused as we noticed that most of our ships shared a particular commonality, a commonality I like to call The Beverage Theory.

Later on, kayryn and ( Read more... )

This list is made of so much awesome and I've been waiting for it since well... I don't think my math goes that far.

I love that in Nurse Jackie, Jackie's voice over says, "And that coffee? For me." I love these two, the non-couple-couple that they are.

We've been on this forever, I can't believe it's finally published. *g*

OMG, that voice over is golden! I'm so conflicted over this paring, because they'd be both perfect and desastrous together.

speaking of Kelli Williams - she was on CriMi this week.

fandom collide...

keep waiting to see her on CSI: NY

i need to find MI and watch it all again. it had SUCH potential for femslashy goodness.

oh, and the drink thing? is just slashy - castle always brings beckett coffee.

now i have to wonder if we'll see the drink thing on body of proof... or if it's elsewhere within the fandoms... :D

Yessss, I actually watched this week's Criminal Minds just because Kelli Williams was in it. She's fabulous.

Medical Investigation is one of those eternity fandoms which I'll always gravitate towards at certain intervals. Eva & Natalie were so gay for each other, it's insane.

now i have to wonder if we'll see the drink thing on body of proof

The moment it happens, a ship becomes all that much more canon. *g* There's a million ships that apply here, slash and het.

And and and, doesn't Emily bring coffee to JJ right before the knee-touching scene?

I highly approve of this list.

She totally does! Those two really wanted to prove this theory correct.

Hahahahaha, I love your lists! This is brilliant. Apparently TV writers think that nothing shows bonding like bringing each other beverages.

I'll throw in Bo and Lauren.

I swear. Every. single. ship! Bonding over beverages, it makes sense.

Bo/Lauren, of course! *love*

Oh, and I forgot to say, I love the inclusion of Jackie/O'Hara above. I think I love their friendship more than I ship them, but still, they make me squee!!

(Have you been watching Season 3?)

I'm the same way when it comes to Nurse Jackie. I love the friendship they have and they're so each other's soulmates. I don't exactly ship them, but at the same time, stuff like O'Hara saying to Jackie, "You better not care more about that old nurse than you do about me, by the way," or Jackie telling O'Hara she likes to be her girl... well, it just screams femslash to me. But if those two ever actually shagged, it'd ruin the show, I'm sure.

omg, those two instances you mentioned are exactly what I love about their friendship. I don't think I wish for them to be together, and I don't even think I'd read fic about it or anything, but it's impossible not to acknowledge the deep bond they share.
