Introducing the Beverage Theory

This post/picspam has been a long time coming. And by 'long time' I mean at least ten years, which is insane and shows you exactly how long I've been geeking over fandom. Anyway, back in the day, gabriellemb and I were amused as we noticed that most of our ships shared a particular commonality, a commonality I like to call The Beverage Theory.

I did indeed! It had to be seen for Kelli Williams alone, so seeing the team actually deal with Emily's departure was a nice plus.

Xena was definitely on the list, but the task of finding one of those scenes from the dozens and dozens of episodes turned out to be a mission impossible.

Now you got me thinking on finding clips/screen-caps of Mel/Frankie beverage sharing. Like that's such a hard chore. :)

I love this list but now you have me running through all my fandoms trying to pick out the beverage exchange couples. The only ones I can't immediately make fit are Kahlan/Cara which will mean I'll have to re-watch some of their episodes: Oh, the horror! *g*

Funnily enough, Cara/Kahlan was the only one for which I couldn't think of a scene either.

I can't think of one for Cara/Kahlan either. Although a fair amount of cooking takes place on LotS, they never seem to get around to actually eating/drinking because of interruptions like Kahlan getting kidnapped by gars, or Richard having surprise parties and stuff.

The one instance I can think of Cara drinking is when she sucks Shadow Water off of Richie's fingers. Which...yeah, not really femslashy ;)

Cara and Kahlan have the scene with Cara cauterizing Kahlan's leg injury with her agiel, which was so absurdly slashy I have no idea how the actors got through the scene without dissolving into giggles and then maybe making out a little.

Bringing people food/water (especially directly feeding them), giving them medical care, grooming their hair/helping them dress, instructing them in a way that requires lots of contact (target shooting, billiards), lighting their cigarette, though smoking is fairly rare nowadays...it's all time honored shorthand. Which is why shows like Rizzoli and Isles crack me up, because they blatantly code the two of them as a couple or impending couple about 10 different ways per episode, and you still get folks who don't see it.
