Think you're quick enough?

What is it with the annoying ship "mash" names all sounding like food items? "Calzona" is probably the worst (totes a pizza), but I also find myself wanting to kick something whenever I see "Rizzles", because that's just dumb. It's like a cracker. Also, "Jemily". I can't help thinking of jam. Just...WHY ( Read more... )

D'oh, should've remembered the term. Anyway, they need to DIE. It's a miracle someone hasn't come up with "Kahra" or something as headdesk-worthy.

Unfortunately, someone has. I've actually seen "Kahra" numerous times and every time I do? I WANT TO VOMIT.

I don't hate all portmanteaus on principle, as I think some work (like Otalia, for instance), but I detest when they're forced and awkward, as, let's face it, most are these days. As bad as "Jemily" is (and it's really atrocious), I think "Cangel" might be my most hated; what was wrong with referring to them as Cordy/Angel or C/A for short like we did for years? And, OMG, "Fuffy"? Just... no. Ugh. Fandom fail.

*weeps* I think I just lost faith in humanity.

WORD. Otalia works, I definitely agree. ♥ Too bad nine times out of ten, it's the other way around. And I'm laughing so hard right now, because I had no idea "Cangel" existed! That might actually be the most brilliant of them all.

I remember one time, when TQATD came out on video, I went to a video store and rented it. How I drooled over Sharon Stone and watched it 3 times that weekend may or may not be relevant. I went to the video store some months later and wanted to rent that same movie again when the girl behind the counter said "But you've already rented this one, recently." and I was like, "What's your point?" like, she couldn't understand why I would want to see the same movie again after such a short time and I couldn't understand why she thought I wouldn't want to. I mean, it has cowgirl!Sharon in it! Also, lots of gun!porn.

OMG, that sounds exactly like something my mum would say. She just doesn't get it how I can watch some movies and episodes of TV shows over and over again. Or why I would even want to, since it's all old stuff. Well, umm, d'uh! Hot women! That gets you pretty far up on my list.

Well, SOME portmanteaus are funny/imaginative. I know I laughed the first time I saw (instead of Rizzles) "Risled Up". I thought it was a good play on words. >>

That one is actually funny and has a real point to it (why didn't it stick?!?). <3 It's just that 95% of all portmanteaus are just plain dumb, which annoys me way more than it should!

It's so awful a movie, really! And the last words of Sharon Stone's character? "The law is back in town." I would die of second-hand embarrassment if she didn't look as hot as she does. Also, the fact that a) she doesn't end up with the obligatory man, and b) actually gets to be the hero, is pretty damn amazing.

apparently the "Rizzles" thing on twitter was started by a het fangirl who kept saying "its not a gay thing!!"

That is so hilarious and LMAO-worthy. :D

"Rizzles" just makes me cringe. It's horrible.

Sasha handles her fans on Twitter with a lot of good grace, but goodness me, I do wish people would learn to self-edit.

Why is it that the worst ones always stick?

Sasha is a class act. It's the online anonymity; people think the celebrities are just like them and feel "allowed" to say the most inane and embarrassing things to their idols. Makes me want to cringe most of the time.
