Thank God for Castle, that's all I'm saying. Without that cracky show, the upcoming TV season would be really depressing for me. But eee! Now I have Beckett and Castle and my ship back! Not to mention gun!porn and boyfriends and all-round awesomeness. ♥

Brilliance, indeed. Something that cannot be said about Criminal Minds. This morning, I ( Read more... )

AJ was wonderful in the phone scene - in looks and actions! I'm really going to miss her. I did think it was ironic that the character they've cut from the show was the one that saved the day in the season premier - do you think that was planned?

I'm really beginning to worry about what we're in for this season - no more JJ after next week and barely-there Prentiss is not going to keep me watching. Maybe I was letting my own feelings cloud my viewing, but the whole show seemed a little off kilter. I get that Morgan yelling at Garcia was supposed to show us just how much this case was getting to him, but I just found that completely out of character. Garcia is usually the only one who can break through to him. Did the writers forget that she's his "god-given solace"?

I agree that the final scene was a little strange. It was too long for starters. The way he kept rubbing her head, I was waiting for the wig to dislodge!

So-so show, but nice picspam. Thanks for all the pretty pics!

Without a doubt. It's like the writers decided to give her as much to do as possible and make her save the day, just to show CBS what they'll be missing.

Is it bad that I'm not even worried anymore? The utter ambivalence this show makes me feel is ridiculous. Sure, I'll keep watching for Emily, but the it'll be far from being my priority.

*sigh* If only the first three seasons would come back.

Ugh, I really can't bring myself to watch the ep. Yay for at least having Lost Girl to watch this fall for the ghey. <3

One of the most useless hours of television I've ever witnessed. Unbelievable that it's come to this.

People keep raving about Lost Girl. I should probably give it a go!

How weird is it that reading this post was the thing to really make me see the facts? Denial is a pretty place to live in! Even though I've whined about this more than enough, I've cursed CBS to the lowest level of hell with my friends about this fuckery, somehow I just kinda imagined it'd stay the same. Like we'd get to enjoy the gayness of Prentiss till the end of the world.

Your summary does make me think the whole show is changing to something that no-one likes to see. Like the writers just got lazy and thought that it's no biggie to write the characters totally OOC every now and then. I don't know.. I'm gonna watch the epi now and probably curse CBS some more.

Will you keep doing this until Emily goes? Or will you recap just the episodes where she's in? Now I feel like crying. I don't wanna lose this show.

So weird, it was the exact same thing for me! Somehow, the wholy CBS!FAIL wasn't real until I watched this episode and realised that JJ wouldn't be there after next week. And when a show's writing is as brilliant as this one's was back in Season 3, reaching this kind of epic low seems like an impossibility.

It all went to hell in a hand basket when CBS got rid of most of the show's writers at the beginning of Season 4; it's all been downhill from there, and the latest "budget cut" is the final nail to the coffin, I'm sure of it.

Will you keep doing this until Emily goes?

After next week, I'll still be watching for Emily, but I probably won't be picspamming anymore - unless there's a particularly fabulous Emily scene that the world should absolutelt know about. But if they only give her three lines like in the season premier, it'll definitely not be worth it.

This episode continues to prove my point. I've always wanted to stop watching the show, because it started to go downhill after the third season. The only reason I continued to watch was because I love the cast and characters. With AJ, the reason I first tuned in to the show, leaving, I've made up my mind. After next week, I'm just going to pretend that the show got cancelled and switch over to Modern Family. I'll watch the excellent first three seasons on repeat.

The speech JJ gave was a complete cheese-fest, but AJ played it perfectly. She's such a good actor, that I just can't believe that they would let her go, instead of properly involving her in storylines in the first place. It's as if they blamed the actor for the lazy writing.

I've been angry since I first heard that they were not renewing AJ's contract, but I didn't think I was upset about it, until I saw the preview for next week.

And, yeah, Beckett and Castle are way hot together. Nathan Fillion always makes everything better.

Yep, when CBS sacked most of the show's permanent writers after Season 3, it all started to go downhill. My main reason for watching still was Emily & JJ, and the occasional scene they shared. But after next week? So not worth it. I'll keep fast-forwarding through the episodes for Emily, but as a whole, the show's dead to me.

The cheesiness of JJ's speech was all the writers' fault! A.J. did a fabulous job, trying to make it sound convincing. *sigh* Maybe it's good she'll be leaving before the ship sinks completely.

I thought it'd be too overwhelming, but all I felt was ambivalence. This is heartbreaking, no doubt about it. :(
