So how is life in its other aspects? Halloween was nice-- the costume exceeded my expectations (=D) and I got lots of fun bickering sessions with Sarah Palin!spinners_grove. And candy. There was candy. And singing. And then there's NaNo again this year, which... well, I am behind, but I'm doing better. I think I might pull it off this time, guys. ETA: Oh, and I ( Read more... )

Ok, so, this is my take on the whole thing.

Church

State

As in, not connected.

I dunno, "someone" was bugging me with their arguements, because a WHOLE bunch of people just got married at Town Halls. And even so, if God's (if I'm assuming there IS a God) is going to damn me for being who he made me to be, I'd rather not hang out with him anyway.

In other news, I've been playing Ocarina of Time. I love Link! But I DETEST the Shadow Temple. Less than I'm peeved with Californian's, but the feelings still there.

Precisely, and that's a huge part of the issues I have with organized religion: some of it is very, very good, and teaches very, very good lessons, but some of it seems a bit... well, two thousand years ago, and both morals and human thinking have evolved since then.

Ocarina of Time~ <333 Widely regarded to be one of the best games of all time, so I've heard. ...I've actually personally never finished it, so LET ME KNOW WHAT YOU THINK :D

Seconded with CS. I believe- in terms of gay marriage- that no, they should not be married under the Church. If the Bible says specifically that that's not the thing to do, then fine. HOWEVER~ I think civil unions are the way to go. I think-legally, now- that marriage is basically a partnership. You share a home and income(s) and taxes and whatever. AND THAT'S FINE. It's a lifestyle, it's a biological makeup, it's what it is, great, just don't shove it in my face. (I have enough straight PDAs that I don't want to see ( ... )

But that's just the thing I'm having an issue with here-- deliberately discriminating against people is not morally right by any means, and animals don't even do it.

Not arguing, not arguing, I just do not understand people. (Not you, of course. <3)

Added because I finally figured out how to say this at school today: I do not have any problem with you. I have a problem with the fifty-odd percent of California that is using their god as am excuse to justify bigotry and discrimination. This is disgusting and wrong, and it's a perversion of what religion was created to be.
