Pants.

How come for all (i may be wrong) articles of clothing worn on your legs (pants, slacks, khakis etc. the list goes on forever) you  can't make the article of clothing singular w/out first adding "a pair of" but for articles of clothing that go on your arms and hands e.g. gloves, you can... glove.  Pants doesn't become "pant" when you are refering ( Read more... )

you can say skirt, but i guess that's like entity as opposed to two legs or something?

and you forgot:
briefs
boxers
leggings
tights

also underwear is both plural and singular

skirt is worn primarily on your waist though. And underwear is plural. You can't say "I have an underwear"
