Beware the Ides of March.

I just got quizzed by one of the lawyers. I thought he was testing me, but it turns out he just wanted to know for his own edification.

I was kind of disappointed. I was hoping for a prize of some sort. Especially when I accurately identified the location of the Oracle at Delphi (don't even ask how we got there)

Uh . . . isn't "where was the Oracle at Delphi?" one of those "who's buried in Grant's Tomb?" kind of questions?

They really are, aren't they? It was especially funny because I didn't think that there was anything all that unusual about having that conversation.

um, well, I mean to say... the Oracle of Delphi is at Delphi. I am concerned about the kind of legal representation this person may be providing.

Yes, it is. The conversation went something like this:

Lawyer: And who warned Caesar about the Ides of March?
Me: A soothsayer in the street.
Lawyer: Really? I thought it was the Oracle of Delphi.
Me: Nope. It was a soothsayer.
Lawyer: Are you sure.
Me: Pretty sure. Since the whole thing takes place in Rome.
Lawyer: And where is the Oracle of Delphi.
Me: Greece. You know, in Delphi.
Lawyer: Oh. That makes sense.

No kidding.
