Yeah, everyone seems pretty ambivalent about it. Excited but worried and annoyed all at the same time. Grr.

P.S. Did you say awhile back you were looking for a beta?

I feel I'll I'm always begging to a beta...lol. But yes, I'm working on what I think will just be a two chapter post loyalty fic that I finally finished the first chapter on and I am looking for someone or ones to take a look at it.

Are you offering or just curious? ;)

Sure! It might take a bit to get it back, but I'd love to take a look.

I would love for you to take a look...and hell it will probably take me six months to write the 2nd chapter...so no real rush. Do you want to PM me your email?

I'm hoping that VDO actually only signed under the condition she comes back, too. They did seem to have this loyalty thing going in the past. Maybe it's simply a matter of her contract not being signed yet, it's negotiated or in the final stages, but not signed.

I hope that him signing on will be an incentive for her to do so...

I feel about the same way you do. I'm not "happy" over the news; more like cautiously...no, uh uh, not even optimistic. I do NOT trust these writers.

But, like you, I do hope the new season will inspire a LOCI fanfic renaissance. :)

IA with everything you said here. Kind of hopeful, but yeah, they lost my trust w/ the last seasons and Loyalty.

Yeah the trust is gone. I'm really not hopeful at all about the actual show. I'm so saddened by what its turned into.

i'm really, really nervous about the whole thing. i only want ci back if they both do it. i mean, i think VDO was the one that really wanted out and the most eager to leave (the way he answered questions in interviews is what leads me to this conclusion) and now he's the first to sign on? i just don't understand.

ICAM. This turn of events is downright bizarre. To my mind, there are only three possible explanations for VDO's choosing to return:

(1) when he left the show before, he was "putting on a good face" (i.e., lying)... for his own reasons or because he was under some sort of gag order from TPTB;

(2) he is fickle; or

(3) he really needs the money.

I don't think his reason for returning has one damn thing to do with "loyalty to the fans" (as some have naively squee'd about on the boards, LOL!). In any case, I'm not mad at VDO or anything. I continue to blame TPTB for their shabby treatment of the actors, the fans, and the very show itself. What they do with this 10th season remains to be seen, but I'm not overly optimistic that they will do it justice.

i don't think so either because i heard on another community here at livejournal that he had met with dick wolf like two days before the binder from the fans was handed to him personally. so...yeah, possibly has NOTHING to do with fans :)

Well I think there's a practical answer as to why he is on board first -- he was the first one approached. In one of the articles I read there was a producer or USA rep that implied that if they couldn't get VDO then they were just going to cancel the show. So they probably didn't begin to approach others until they got a definite yes from him ( ... )
