A part of me finds it exciting that a group of fans are doing their part to stand up for VDO and KE by voicing their displeasure about the cast shake-ups because I agree with many of them in that CI is not CI if there is no Goren and Eames. I don't like that their leaving seems to be instigated solely for the purpse of sponsers and USA to make more ( Read more... )

I'd like to hear more from VDO/KE on this matter. I don't want to ask them to keep doing something they no longer feel they want/need to do.

Personally I kinda feel that VDO is probably indifferent to the situation, but I would like to see where KE stands -- though it seems with the options they were given this was the only one either would agree to. I like how they're staying loyal to each other.

Everyone keeps saying that VDO is ready to move on to other things, and I'm like he's been doing other things the whole time anyway...so what makes that the reason. *shakes head* anyway, they are going to do what they are going to do. Pretty much nothing that goes on is going to change anything. And sending fluff seems a little extreme to me because that really has no basis in the Goren & Eames fandom. Martini glasses would've been awesome though! That has actual...substance!

That is a good point -- I think the only reason he has stayed for this many years is because he was promised to have time to do those other things.

I think the fluff thing (just from the little of gathered) is because some people see or are assuming VDO and KE are getting the boot because they want to lighten the feel of the show -- to turn it to pure fluff with no real substance. IDK. I mean really everything is speculation until we actually hear from KE or VDO, which will probably not be for quite a while since they probably still have contractual obligations to NBCU. *shrugs*

Yeah, I'm not completely convinced that this isn't something the actors weren't ready to do. Despite what people have been saying. I think I'd rather hear it from their own mouths. And whatever they say, after the series is over and they're no longer beholden to NBC/USA, I think we should take them at their word.

I do, however, feel very disappointed that Goren and Eames aren't going to be there next season. :(

I think VDO has been back and forth for awhile as far as being ready to go and the impression I get is the fact he would have to lose kate in order to stay on and continue making what he was making solidified that it was time to go. I mean who knows...

KE I'm not sure about...I think with him going it makes her ready too...but again who knows how happy or upset or indifferent they are to it. I think one thing as fans forget is that for them this is a job -- for them it's not that different than us just doing are weekly 9 to 5. And just like us if something goes wrong in a job whatever it may be you decide to move on if you can.

I will miss Goren and Eames...but let's hope all of us fanfic writers don't let them die completely.

I'm feeling pretty ambiguous about it myself. I sent some postcards and e-mails, but at the same time I worried that maybe they really would rather move on. And keeping them is a little ridiculous if we don't get better writers. (Which is also the reason I'm not sending in "fluff." Not that I would be opposed to a happier show, despite my angst addiction--at this point I am pretty much in favor of *any* emotion making a comeback--but because I think the 8th season *was* these writers' attempt at fluff, and they clearly suck at it.)

YES!

See, I can deal with G&E leaving what I can't deal with is someone passing off this horrid writing as CI -- which used to be highly intelligent and complex. The early seasons had a lot of humor in them -- u can do light and still have a punch to the dark stuff. Obviously these guys can't find a balance so instead of tipping one way or another they just flatlined.
