I actually meant to go into Russia's quote "concern for Lithuania's independence" but it didn't seem to fit anywhere at the end of this, so I'll probably recap it at the beginning of the next chapter.
Yeaaaaahhhh Hetalia's really inaccurate here...that's why I overrode comic canon in favor of historical canon. Although, Lithuania maintained really strict neutrality at the beginning of the war (especially when Germany offered to double-team Poland with him) but also took in thousands of Polish troops and refugees, so it seems to me they were about as neutral as America-shipping-weapons-only-to-the-Allies. (Though they also knew nothing about Germany's intention to invade in the first place, so I don't know what that was about...)
I just found this fic today and I have to say it's AMAZING! Seriously, this is one of the best Hetalia fics I've read. <3 Can't wait for the next chapter!
I am so not sick of you yet. I am exactly the opposite of being sick of you. :D I actually really love that you break out of Hetalia canon in favor of following historical canon, because as much as I love Hetalia, the inaccuracies can be pretty grating sometimes. I also love that you actually write Poland being a selfish jerk and Lithuania being Not Okay With It. I get a little tired of the fandom interpretation of them being BFF and never having any serious conflicts or times when they honestly piss each other off. Nope, it's all sunshine and rye fields for them~ ...yeah, sure. And did I mention that I love America? And his slang? Ph god yes. In conclusion, I love you forever.
GOD I LOVE THIS. The history (I'm such a history whore) and the way you incorporate everyone's relationship with each other is great. Again.
The parting between Alfred and Toris was sad, but subtle. For some reason, for those two, it's the way it was expected to be. I love how you caught the little emotions in there.
Gah, I can't wait to read more. This made my day more awesome. :D
