Why I like dogs more than people:

Gotta tell ya, even my cats were more reliable in their honesty and affection.
The picture is of Rascal at about 17-years old.

I'm pretty much always happy around dogs (& cats) and plants. People - not so much. I have my 'comfort-zone' group, which includes some super BCers. Honestly, the most grief I have taken over the years has been from family. Just burned out.

I recently heard a piece on the radio by someone who has proved that dogs do in fact laugh. (I'm sure you knew this already) It is at frequency much too high for us to hear with our ears.
So what makes dogs laugh? In general they have a very silly sense of humor. They like slapstick. They think it's very funny when People/Dogs fall over.
There were times when I new Emma (Rest her soul) was laughing at me. She would have this special shine in her eyes, and of course a big huge grin.

I think your are right-on here. I used to have a Beagle who knew how to push my buttons and he practically laughed out loud when he got the reaction he was going for.
Dogs are the best !!!

BTW - I adore the picture of you in the cabin, sleeping pack-style with the dogs (on your blog). It is so YOU.
