Gettin' Stuff Done

May 11, 2009 16:07

Finished up this scarf for my Dad's Christmas gift a few days ago, but I finally got it photographed today.

I am very frustrated with our camera, which has lost the ability to accurately represent any shades of red. So this scarf is neither as dark as the first photo, nor as pink as the second photo - it's actually burgundy *headdesk*

I'd love to have something on my needles, but the joint in my thumb is still messed up. Every time I try to knit it swells up painfully. I need to give it some more time.

Oh, honey, I'm sorry about your thumb. I get so frustrated when my own hands fail.

It drives me crazy. But since I can't see a doctor, I can't take a chance on making it worse than it already is.

If you tell me what model camera, I'll look around and see if I can find a cure for it. Gives me something to do to distract from anxiety.

It could be something that a factory reset'd take care of, or it could be your red is blown on the chip...

BTW, do you have photoshop? Not that I'd know how to cure these pictures - I tried a few things and didn't have a ton of success. Of course you can always desaturate and then just muck with 'Variations'...

I love that scarf pattern. Maybe my issue with scarves is that I never make very interesting ones :)

On my needles still is my lacy prairie shawl. I'm down to the end stretch though, I can feel it. Less than 90 rows to go before the lace pattern is complete and after that I just need to make the border. It really is coming along nicely.

Well... It's a lovely pattern, but even a lovely six-row repeat still gets dull when you knit it 52 times :P

Yeah, your camera is having issues. Strange. The scarf turned out nicely. I bet your dad likes it :) My needles are still working on that baby outfit I'm being paid to make. I have to finish it this week, though - the baby shower is this coming weekend! I'm not enjoying it very much, but it is coming along. I only hope the outfits fit. I'm worried about the leggings. Oh well. I'll tell the lady that I'm not happy with them. It's the best I can do at this point.

Thank you! I'm glad you can see/remember how different the pictures are from the actual colour of the yarn. It's really much more 'masculine' in person *grumbles*

I'd love to post a picture of the Indigo Moon yarn that arrived in my mailbox today, but it's a very rich shade of red, and there's really no point with this camera. I'll have to show you in person some time instead.

I'm sorry you're not happy with your commission project. I found I just reached a point where I could not do it any more, which is why I got out of the market knitting.

Beautiful job! I have nothing on my needles because I don't have any. I tried to learn how to knit from both of my sisters but I am just not cut out for it. Although I can crochet, I just can't do anything but one solid chain but I could do a monster one. :o) I guess you could wrap it around your neck about 100 times and it could eventually be called a scarf.

I am utterly baffled by crochet; can't even to a simple chain. Whenever a pattern calls for crochet details, I hand it of to Liadra there, and she does it for me :P

It looks purply to me but either way, it's beautiful! The pattern is lovely. :)

Yeah, the yarn is actually a much redder wine colour, but our camera cannot see the red at all, so I get purple and pink in the pictures. Ah well...

Thank you, I quite enjoyed the pattern as it knitted up.
