Summer's half over already! How did that happen? *feels lost* Anyway...
That Arrowhead Shawl I started at the end of June, hoping it would be done by the end of September? Voila! ...and in just under a month of knitting, too!
I love how the varigation shows off the shawl construction, with short rows at the nape of the neck creating blocks of colour, and then the stripes getting thinner and thinner as the rows get longer until the colour at the bottom edge is almost homogenous, more shaded than clearly striped.
I'm still one row away from completing the first set of Lily of the Valley. I've been too enh at nights to knit (hehehe. typoed that as knot. Fruedian? Perhaps!)
I love your arrowhead shawl. That yarn really suits it. I can't wait to see the prayer shawl, too. I really liked that yarn as well.
I'd intended to give the Arrowhead Shawl to Aunt E, but she can't have it - it's mine! (*mwhahahahahaaaa*) I have it over the back of my chair, just so I can keep looking at it and petting it and snuggling under it when the evenings get cool. I know Frankie has some lovely hand-stained wooden shawl pins, and I want one for this shawl.
Knots! Lotsa lotsa knots! It's so not a portable project now, that Swallowtail - I'm counting on every row. Oy. Pretty, though...
Yeah, that Swallowtail isn't very portable. I did up that last row on the first set of Lily of the Valley. It really is a daylight sort of knit, isn't it?
Maybe I should work on my second sock that's been languishing since WWKIP day!
I won't be able to take my Swallowtail camping with me. It's not good for a car knit, and I don't want to work on it in front of Mum when it's meant to be her gift, y'know?
So by the time I get back, you'll be streets ahead on that one ">
I had a brainstorm in the shower today about some scarves I've been commissioned to make for friends so I added the relavant notes to my Ravelry queue and will probably get the yarn this weekend. Plus there's the ever prevalent sock knitting. I really want to have my 5 or 6 pairs of wool socks knit by the time it's cool enough to wear them.
I've never made a washcloth, you know. I don't actually use dishcloths here (I prefer scrubbie sponges), but I noticed my Mum has some hand-knit dishcloths in her camping kit. I might make her some for Christmas some time...
