Wow, that was a pretty insightful comment. I too felt sorry for the poor Sheperd! After all that trouble he went to, offering her a life of nature, she wouldnt have a bar of it. Some argued that it was just the material he was offering but I really think we are being too critical on the poor man. I mean surely we don't apporach someone we fancy and tell them we will love them even when things will start to wilt etc. It is the passion and the romance that will woo your suitor. Certainly in my opinion, anyway. You are right, "you need passion to keep it fresh" flowers etc that the Sheperd offered may well be the key to this! Love can last though time and age...but at what cost?
