Oooh, Wicked is brilliant! *dances with you* And has little in common plotwise with the book, which is also incredibly brilliant, though I'm not sure what you were burninated with.

Wait, you thought the book was brilliant? The pieces that were quoted to me read like, as risti put it, pretentious badfic.

I loved it, yes, as did the rest of family. Not qualified to be an arbiter of literary taste, of course (who is?), but I thought it was full of Ideas and very well done.

I think the (IMHO awful) language is what got me most. When she c&ped the bit about Turtle Heart taking off his cap and hunks of greasy red hair falling out, I nearly died. And his "raspberry-honey-colored chin". Oh, and the Elphaba post-sex scene with purple pubic hair and the scar from where her hermaphroditic penis had been rubbed off with a towel as a newborn. O_O

Anyone reading this comment is going to be very, very perplexed.

I greatly enjoyed Wicked, the novel, though thought the political bits were a bit heavy handed. The purple prose did not strike me, actually.

I would, however, love to see the musical!
