So, 2009. It had plenty of hard times, but for me the difficult parts were overshadowed by the good things, and thus, 2009 departs with memories of happiness.

Yesterday misterck was featured on Jeopardy! I had every intention of finding a way to watch it, until I actually looked up our local programming and discovered... our NBC affiliate doesn't appear to air Jeopardy!

Seriously, NBC. Merv Griffin's Crosswords? You've got to be kidding me.

Anyone who knows me or has been hanging around this journal for any length knows that rj_anderson is a dear friend. So this review may, in some ways, be sort of biased, but I still think this book deserves all the attention it can get, even from my tiny corner of the web.

This past Sunday I had the pleasure of spending the afternoon with Sean Kottke, who I have mentioned before (on Blogger back in the day!) as my favourite high school teacher.

I'm back after a fantastic week with risti and our gracious hostess (especially gracious since I was a relatively random stranger), waifofthenorth. Good times had by all, and bad pics and silly stories to come.

Back to work tomorrow -- the week's email I've seen so far fills me with general dread. :P

So on a something of a whim (a planned whim, if that's possible) I went to Austin for an ex-coworker's wedding yesterday. I didn't have an invitation and he wasn't expecting me until I dropped an email to him earlier this week, but he seemed very pleased.
