[RL WITH SIRIUS]

Aug 05, 2010 15:49

Remus sat in his living room, on the sofa next to the fireplace, waiting for Sirius to come over. He'd invited him, which was why he was expecting him, having finally found a time where they were both free, and they weren't being cornered by James, and the full moon wasn't going to happen for a while yet, and so the two of them had time to just be ( Read more... )

Sirius was incredibly lucky that his parents hadn't grounded him for the whole summer yet. Somehow, they managed not to notice that Remus had been there when he'd been cat-eared, and remained similarly oblivious about him going to see James. He hoped he was lucky again.

When he walked out of the fireplace, he wore a cheeky smile. "'llo there. Long time no see."

Sirius was busy in the process of stripping down for swimming, only really half-listening. He hadn't been swimming in....well, he didn't really remember the last time he'd been swimming. So he was excited to get going, easily kicking off his shoes and socks while he headed towards the creek.

"It looks great!" Sirius said cheerfully, glancing back at Remus. "C'mon, Moony!" he called back before tearing off his pants and taking a whooping run off towards the water.

Remus blushed, averting his eyes as soon as Sirius got all of his clothes off. He made his way to the side of the creek, folding the towels to place them by the edge, carefully making sure his gaze was elsewhere until Sirius was sufficiently in the water. That was the last thing he needed, to be visibly attracted to his friend right before he was about to come out to him. "Is, ehm," Remus asked, fumbling with his words, "is the water nice, Pads?" It was obvious that Remus is more uncomfortable than usual about Sirius's nudity, and that he was hesitant to look in Sirius's direction, keeping his eyes to the ground as he addressed his friend. He made no move to join Sirius in the water, either, instead moving to sit on his towel by the side, playing with a nearby fern.

"Yeah, it's great!" Sirius said, wading out to where he was about waist-deep in the water. It really was a nice temperature, and the creek flowed smoothly around him. Looking up at Remus, Sirius noticed how awkward he was acting and frowned. "You coming in, Moony?"

Remus blushed, sitting on the side of the creek, moving to pick at the towel that he was sitting on. "I... I don't know... I might just stay out here," Remus said, not really committing to his answer. "You just... You enjoy it. I'll. I'll be fine."

Sirius frowned more. "Oh, come on!" he said. "The water's nice! And I came here to hang out with you, not hang out in your creek and make you watch."

Remus flushed. He certainly had no intention of watching Sirius skinny-dipping in the creek, not with Sirius knowing full well that he was watching, at least. "Yeah, alright," he said, standing up, reaching for the hem of the t-shirt he was wearing before pausing for a second ( ... )

It didn't even occur to Sirius to be bothered by the idea of seeing Remus' scars; he knew they existed, and it didn't occur to him that Remus would be self-conscious. Instead, he cheered as Remus walked into the creek. "Hooray!" he chirped, chuckling a little. "You've decided to join!"

Remus rolled his eyes. "You were going to pull me in if I didn't decide to do so myself, don't even pretend differently, Pads. I'm just in now because I'd rather like to keep my dignity, thanks." He waded out further than Sirius, crouching down so that he was up to the middle of his chest in the water. "There. I'm in now. Are you happy?"

"Yes, yes I am," Sirius said cheekily, moving out further so that he stood not far from Remus. "And I absolutely would have pulled you in, so be glad you've made the wise choice. My other option would have been to cannonball off the side of the creek and spray you with water everywhere."

Remus visibly blushed as Sirius approached him, very much aware of the fact that Sirius had absolutely no clothes on whatsoever. "Well, then I'm glad that I spared myself from that experience, then," Remus said, looking pretty obviously flustered and maybe even a little uncomfortable, not because Sirius was naked, but because Sirius was naked when Remus was going to try and have a conversation with him about serious personal facts that would make at least other boys a bit uncomfortable themselves.

Sirius cocked his head to one side, frowning. He crouched down so he and Remus were at similar eye levels before asking, "You okay? You're acting...weird, I guess." Fwoooosh went the idea of being embarassed around a naked person, right over his head.

Remus's blush does nothing to dissipate, but he manages to turn his eyes to look at Sirius, both grateful that his friend is observant enough to notice that something's up and frightened that now he's going to have to explain himself. He turned his head away again. At least Sirius's nakedness was covered a little more by the fact that he was crouching in the water, but that didn't do anything to calm Remus's nerves. He paused for a few moments, trying to formulate the right words before speaking up. "Sorry. There's... There's something that I wanted to talk to you about, Pads. But. It can wait. You should enjoy yourself swimming, before I ruin your fun."

Sirius' eyebrows raised at that. "What is it?" he asked, wondering if it was something serious, if something bad had happened. "Come on, tell me. I'm not gonna be able to go goof off if you're holding it back."

Remus blanched in response. "Sirius, there's a time and a place, and I really don't think that here and now in the creek is either of those. I'm sorry that I even brought it up. It's fine, though. It... It can wait," Remus lied. He was pretty sure that it was fairly obvious that he was lying--it would weigh on his mind pretty heavily until he finally got it out. It was half of the reason he had Sirius over then to discuss it, why he didn't wait until the school year began. He'd just let it fester in his mind, that way, and nothing good ever came when he let himself do that.

Sirius frowned before using his foot to poke Remus underwater. "Moony. Come on. Tell me. If being in a creek is what breaks it, then we can get out of the creek. You know that I'm not gonna let this drop."
