Hi, I run tivolovers - so the problem is that the TiVo isn't connecting to your WiFi network anymore? What software version is on the TiVo, and what kind of WiFi adapter are you using?

thanks so much for responding! the connection is fine, it is detecting a strong signal, but it won't connect. we have a wireless setup, when we researched it, it seems like it is probably that the linksys connector is no longer supported. it bums me out that it seems like tivo did that to make us buy their new wireless thingy, but we most likely will go through our cable company to get their dvr...
we have the tivo brand box and everything has been totally fine, it says that the last successful upload was in 01/15. when we try to force a connection it sits for a couple of minutes and then said it couldn't find a network. we have turned off things, unplugged things, powered down several times to no avail...i love me tivo, i will be really sad if we have to switch...

So you have a Linksys USB adapter plugged into the TiVo? Is it on this list: http://www.tivo.com/adapters

8.1 did cause some old adapters to stop working, but not deliberately. TiVo is looking into it. Of course, it is a Catch-22 - once it doesn't work you need to do something else to get it working again so it can get any new updates with a fix. The TiVo-branded adapter is the best one to use - it vastly outperforms other adapters on transfers, and it supports WPA encryption, the others only handle WEP.

But if it is still being seen by the TiVo and it is seeing the network, it seems like the system still has the drivers. If you're using WEP on the WiFi network, try re-entering the WEP key as HEX to be sure.

i am not sure what all that stuff is exactly. i don't think we ever set up a password or anything, but then it won't let us get in there without one. what should i do? what it says is that there is a problem with the internet, which clearly there isn't...i am sure that the tivo adapter is good, but it doesn't seem fair that we bought the one that tivo recommended and now it won't work, so unless we can get this fixed, we will be getting a dvr from comcast. i love me tivo so that bums me out, but at this moment, we have no program info.
