I've been going to the same little espresso place in the bus station for so many years now - it might be close to ten (yes, I am old and creaky). It's owned by this Korean woman who's the only one who works there, and I haven't even had to say what I wanted out loud for several years now (I think I got something different once in the past three years). Even when Really Good Local Coffee Chain moved in nearby, I still go to my Korean lady most of the time (though I like having R.G.L.C.C. close by because I buy my beans for my home espresso machine there).
Here's the hideously embarrassing part: I don't know her name. And after all these years, how do I ask her?
Hmm, I think it's going to be a little awkward either way. I mean, I asked a regular mall-employee customer her name and she learned mine (because neither of us wear tags) and it was only kind of awkward.
I think you should just say that you've wondered what her name was for a while and wasn't sure how to ask? -_-;; I don't know.
Oh, and since you said she's Korean, you could always say "gahm-sah-hahm-ni-da" (감사합니다) which means "thank you", too. ^_^

You could do a whole series. Mini-comics. I always thought fandom lacked mini-comics.
