Re: the shampoo, my hair is also ridiculously thick/curly/long and can take a beating, and while Seanik is still my fave, Squeaky Green, Ultimate Shine and Godiva are also pretty awesome and may work well for you (also, Godiva is jasmine scented like Lustre, so your mother might like it too).

Awesome; thanks for the info. Question for hair like ours: do you happen to know how well the treatments work? I'm curious, but not curious enough to blow that much cash without a little research first.

I've only tried H'Suan Wen Hua (because I can't deal with the smell of Jasmine & Henna Fluffeaze!), and I've found it to be pretty awesome, but my hair is pretty healthy already so I don't know how much difference it makes to the overall condition. R&B smells utterly divine and is great if you get dry ends :)

You can just clarify with a little vinegar diluted in a cup of water. Just pour it over your head in the shower and keep washing like normal. You can keep using your regular shampoo.

I have thick, naturally wavy hair and I LOVE Ultimate Shine...I usually rotate between it and NEW! shampoo.
