In response to 3. I only use the LUSH soaps for my really dirty bits. Armpits, bottom, and other unmentionables. This may illicit a cry of "OMG you'll mess up your pH, etc." but I MUST wash those parts with soap or it gets foul. I have never had a problem and rather like using Demon In The Dark in particular. Very minty fresh in areas I didn't know could be minty fresh. I use LUSH shower gel/smoothies/jellies on the rest of my body. LUSH soap has never been particularly drying when I have used it on my body. I NEVER use it on my face unless it is either Mudflats or Queen of Hearts. I use many of the LUSH facial cleansers for my face.
4. I've tried every buttercream and hated all of them. Some of them smell really good but none of them were moisturizing for me and left me feeling too squeaky clean if you get what I mean. I always had to make sure I moisturized after use.
Lush has quite a bit of moisture keeping soaps- Sultana works for me, as does Figs n' Leaves and Waylander Rhassoul~ I think drying out skin depends on how often you use soap, and how many products you use. And the dryness of the season even. But the buttercreams are certainly the way to go for moisture! All of them are super creamy~ The ones that sound simple are actually more complicated scents, I'm partial to Ring of Roses (it's a citrus rose) and Heavenly Bodies I swear is edible! I just use them the same way I use soap, except I pinch off a smaller amount for each use as a little goes a loooong way~ cheers!
i don't think bar soaps are awful to use, i like them more than liquid soaps. i do notice some of them are a little drying, my favorite is porridge because it's milkier and isn't as bad. i moisturize with Soft Touch butter bar every day, whether i feel dry or not, so i can't give you an accurate *OMG THIS KILLS MY SKIN* opinion. although, Ice Blue soap has salts in it, which was awful and incredibly overdrying for my boyfriend. he sticks to porridge, too.
I am so glad I saw this this morning. Been congested for the past week and nothing is working at night. I'll have to try the fair trade trick. I hadn't thought of it before.
I wouldn't have thought of it either, but I was putting it on my feet last night, and when I put my hand near my face, I felt it start to work almost straight away, so I put some on my chest. It was brilliant, much better than Vicks or eucalyptus type things (which I find relieve congestion okay, but they make me cough. FTFL was much gentler, but just as effective).
I only really use the soaps for washing my hands and prefer the slightly creamier ones like Rock Star.
I'm a big fan of Ring Of Roses buttercream, smells so nice and makes your skin lovely and soft! I keep mine in the freezer to keep it at its best or you can pop them in the fridge. I find that freezing or chilling them stops them from going sloppy in warmer weather.

So those are my .2 cents.

There are a handful of you that are really adamant about not washing and it's tiring and frankly sickening. Ironic for a community based around soap.
Just saying!

Not shoving soap in your crotch ≠ not washing. I can't self-describe as "foul." You can. Do the math.
