Henna dye update

Hi all, me again from this post.  I did the Henna this weekend.  I am sad to say I don't think I was very successful with it though :(.

Let me say what I did and what I did wrong (at least what I think I did wrong) and go from there.

I purchased Caca Marron and my friend (who did it for me) let me use her double boiler to try to keep it warm.  I ( Read more... )

They suggested the one I used because I didn't want to end up ronald mcdonald red or lucy ball red. I wanted like a burgendy red, but I think for a first attempt it came out nice, just not exactly what I wanted.

Yeah, you need Rouge. It's not going to turn you clown red.

If you want red-red and not orange, add powdered cloves to your mix of Rouge. It'll tone down the brassiness and give you more of a true red.

Also, since you've already got one henna "layer" on your hair, you'll get a nice deep color out of this. And Reincarnate will help keep your color too!

I wouldn't rely on Reincarnate to actually make a visible difference in making it redder. It's not a dye. I've been using it for a year now, and really, it doesn't give visible results like that. It does, however, enhance the red sheen I have and make it a little more pronounced, but it took a few weeks for that to happen.
