What I got...and what I liked/didn't like.

So, I made two trips to Paramus for Give It Away. These are my first major Lush purchases, and I can't wait to go again! I first got into Lush last fall, when I bought bath bombs that I had read about for a friend's birthday. Turns out I figured a better present, and the bombs just SAT in my room for awhile until I decided to use Youki-Hi on myself ( Read more... )

I'm not as thrilled with Snowcake as some people are either. I wasn't overly impressed with the scent. But you like, we LOVE Honey I Washed the Kids soap around here. I use it on my daughters most of the time, but I'll occasionally use some on myself as well. The smell is fabulous. I have the solid perfume, as well.

I had the same experience with Shimmy Shimmy. It doesn't really melt like my other massage bars do and it's kind of gritty when you try to rub it on your skin (probably because of the glitter). I'll be watching this post to see if anyone has any suggestions on what to do with it.

I have Witches Ball but I haven't used it yet. I'm looking forward to that pretty water, though!

It's not that Lush hair conditioners are watery, it's that they lack the "detangling" chemicals that make other conditioners feel slippery. They take some getting used to, but once you do, I think you'll find that they condition just fine. Using more is *not* the answer, and could contribute to the greasy-roots problem.

I'll second this. What I find is that my hair doesn't have the slippery detangled feeling while it's still in the tub/shower, but after being towel dried (in my case, tied up into a turban while I get dressed again) it shakes out nicely and hase very few tangles and is nice and soft.

Thanks for this tip, kightp! I'm just gonna have to keep telling repeating the "Less is more" mantra to myself about the conditioners...

I couldn't agree more.

In fact, once my hair adjusted to Lush's conditioners, I've found that my hair tangled a lot less since using them.

All it takes is a small amount. :)

veganese and coolaulin are the two 'single strength' conditioners lush do. if you're needing something thicker, try double strength american cream, or triple strength retread.

but the comment above i also very true, and probably something to take on board if your hair is feeling greasy - the ingredients used in lush products, especially haircare, differs a lot from other kinds available on the market. when your hair's still wet, you don't feel the same "suddenly conditioned" feeling you get from those that contain plastics that coat your hair. you will notice the effects after you've dried your hair. so try using a little less next time (as much as you would if you didn't feel they were 'watery') and see what the effects are like when you've dried your hair :)

and one bubble bar does = one bath! lush bubble bars are meant to make crazy amounts of bubbles :) but with jets on, they'll go insaaaaane.

rainbow worrier gave my hair a gorgeous sandalwood scent for days, it was beautiful.

Ah, I did not know this. My impression from this comm and the forums was that you were supposed to break bubble bars up and use over several baths. But it was pretty sweet to indulge and use the whole thing! Makes sense, as that's what Lush is for...lush baths!

You can do that as well; some people want to use them for more than one bath.

For instance, I break up my bubble bars and bath bombs all the time; it saves me money AND it keeps the Lush awesomeness going. :D
