If I had known you were going to be in Portland we might have been able to meet. Glad you had an enjoyable time.

I was only there for a few hours, actually, or I would have let you know. Ferry got in about 9, off the boat and through customs by 10:30, had to go see my uncle, as he was leaving Friday am.

So, quick visit with him from 11 - past midnight, then to the hotel and sleep. Had to get out on Friday to get home to get to the party in Boston.

Total time in Portland that I was awake = about 3 hours. Lol.

I have to agree about you assessment of Nova Scotia. Bro and I took the older ferry (not the CAT) round trip from Bar Harbor years ago. We only stayed for the stop. Decided not to spend the additional money for the tour. Had an ok lunch but the city was fairly blah. Scenery in fog beautiful though.

Maine and I'm certain NS ocean waters rarely get warm enough for comfortable swimming and by late August the air temp can definitely be cooling especially in the evening.

Yarmouth is pretty blah. Next time either take the tour or rent a car and drive out the coast. The CAT is super-fast. 4 hours from Bar Harbor, 6 from Portland. Well worth the money, imo.
