Gets you back to England.  God, I hate that flight!  Back for a whistle-stop visit for BIL's wedding on Friday.  Qantas were a lot better than the last time we flew with them, so I was entertaines for the whole journey, which is a good thing as I only slept for a total of three hours out of the 30.  Weather a bit rubbish, especially considering ( Read more... )

Wow! 30 hours! You are a trooper!

Slumdog was an awesome film. Bond was "eh". You described it perfectly! :)

Glad you made it safely. Now get some sleep!! :)

I'm slightly more coherent now, though without much access to t'internet. Might go for Slumdog again on the return journey, after The Wrestler, I think.

The last time I was on a flight long enough to have films, I was sitting next to a woman who wouldn't shut up... and wanted to bond with me over Adam Sandler.

Because she wouldn't shut up and let me sleep, I read a few snotty, pretentious books. I'm not sure she got the hint.

On the second, longer leg, I started the trip with a perfectly nice lady who didn't speak any English next to me. They moved her shortly after take-off to allow two women travelling together to sit either side of the aisle next to each other. I had planned on trying to sleep, but was woken up by them arguing because the woman next to me had wanted the other seat, but wouldn't move again when her companion offered to swap. Cue 30 minutes of argument, in very loud whispers, culminating in the other woman standing in the aisle, threatening to remain there for the whole flight unless they swapped seats. Nap ruined, crap films ensued.

And cold, but also great fish and chips and curry sauce. England does have its good points!

Thank you - its been good so far, though a little disconcerting that we feel like we have never been away. Where havge the last 2 1/2 years gone?
