I've been on a fic binge the last couple days but still haven't come across a particular fic. In the fic the train did happen, Reid survives but is seriously injured. I know that Luke moves Reid and himself out of state to live with Reid's parents during his recuperation. I think its because he was mad at Oakdale for being more concerned for Chris

I thought I re-read all her fics a few days ago but I'll check again. The title might have scared me away. I am so deep in denial about the finale that I stopped watching the show before Reid left for Bay City

Reading the last part now. This could be it but I really thought there was a fic out there with Reid and Luke moving in with Reid's parents and maybe deciding to not move back to Oakdale once Reid was better.

Never mind this is the fic. Thanks so much. Only 4 parts are posted to the comm but the last four chapters are on dpracket personal journal. It was chapter 6 that had all the details that stuck with me through the years.
