I'm back home in Texas, now. The family's working on figuring out the last of the details of things that need taken care of in the wake of what's happened. It still doesn't seem quite real. Today was the viewing. I didn't realize how many people Granny knew. It was more than a little wearing on my nerves. I'm not going to want to be near ANYBODY by the time this is over with for a couple WEEKS at least. Stories were shared, memories were revisited. They'll be figuring out the funeral details today. Meanwhile, I'll be flying up sometime around noonish and getting there around 10pm. I'll be coming back on Friday (31st). It's going to be difficult and I'm going to miss home, but...it's worth it to get to say "goodbye" to Granny. I may be able to at least get on AIM while I'm there, but we'll see ( Read more... )

My Granny- my mother's mother, who helped raise me and was practically a second mother to all of us grandkids- was just killed in a car wreck. Papaw was driving.
