For those of you who friended me since I last did this (oiiii), I've been slowly (like, really slowly) rereading "Deathly Hallows" chapter by chapter or so and jotting down some quotes, whatever first-time reactions I remember, and final thoughts. Ok, first of all, this never really gets mentioned afterwards. They heal up the wound or whatever, but Ron is still going to be missing a freakin' chunk of flesh from his arm! Nobody ever comments on this.
i figured when he was at bill and fleur's for so long they would have fixed him up. but then when he came back he was still missing fingernails from the last time he splinched himself. so i dunno!

and some people are just intuitive? at least it was unstereotypical to not make it the woman.

Gellert is obviously quite happy and untroubled here
he could just be a sociopath that always looks like that...but i guess that fits with what you said!

i'm kind of amazed i'm not sick of talking about this yet!

Sociopath sounds reasonable, I suppose. I guess I've been convinced by fandom that Gellert wasn't as bad as Voldemort.

when people come at me with the "HP is sexist" argument before DH came out i always used to joke that ron was the girl of the trio the way they kept having to save him...i can't really do that now.

i don't remember if hermione used italics or caps when she got all snippy that they expect her to cook cause she's a girl. i always imagine her saying it in a very italicized way.:P

It's sad that I actually had the thought process (about voldy's soul doing some sort of victory dance over physics) first time I read it.
