Turkey denies the genocide happened. A lot of countries, including the US, recognize what happened as a tragedy, but don't use the term 'genocide' because of relations with Turkey.

This is indeed promising. I can see where it would mean a great deal to you. I have a lot of faith in our generation. I hope that they live up to what I think they can be.

I think the denial is a big problem. If you listen to young Turks, they are so very proud. They're really not aware that they have such a huge skeleton in their closet.
