happy easter!

Apr 08, 2012 21:00

Felicitations, if you celebrate, or even if you don't. And, drat, it is Easter, and I've not written anything for this month's holiday Erik/Charles yet. (Which is probably Father's Day, by the way. Pretty sure. Really pretty sure.) (Um, in case you missed it or you just want something seasonally appropriate, last month's holiday fic was, in fact, ( Read more... )

Happy Easter!!! (I celebrate with my extended family by eating rabbit mwahahhaha)

That is an AMAZING idea for a fic in my opinion!! You should totally write it!! *sends enabling thoughts your way*

Awww those lyrics are so sad!! I especially like the second stanza. *trots off to find song*

And to you! :-)

(Rabbit, really? Is it...good? I've had kangaroo and crocodile and venison, but never rabbit...) (We just went out for brunch with my parents; not as exciting.)

Encouragement! Hooray! ...I have NO idea where that fic idea came from. Was getting ready for bed last night, and...yeah. But it'd be so much fun! I already have some lines of dialogue in my head for James-and-Erik and Charles-and-Michael discussions. I'm not quite sure HOW all this happens, yet, but I suspect that's less important than the end result, anyway!

It's a lovely song. Someday I will subtitle an Erik/Charles fic with "...stop a baby's breath and shoe full of rice..." and it'll be from this song. I also like "Photograph," from that same album. (Eventually you will like ALL OF MY RANDOM NINETIES MUSIC... *evil grin*)

Rabbit can taste very good, especially when my mom cooks it, but I think my family mainly eats it at Easter for the sadistic factor (we eat venison at Christmas. Once we had venison with pomegranate seeds and called it Rudolph).

Omg I can totally see Charles reading Michael's love for James and advising him to just TELL HIM. (and of course ignoring the elephant in the room named Charles's Hidden Feelings For Erik. )

I love random music! Your suggestions have been awesome so far :)

My god, you've eaten Rudolph AND Peter Rabbit. Sadistic devourers of childhood, you are. (But in an awesome way. Your family sounds wonderful.)

Ye-es...I'm almost not sure I want the telepathy to come along with him. For one thing, because that would make things a little too easy (as the only mutant in 'our' universe, Charles could pretty much do whatever the hell he wanted, including simply convincing everyone that he isn't James and walking away and not bothering to talk to Michael), and also because that'd be extra dislocation for Charles, if mutant abilities just don't exist over here. (Also, James dealing with sudden telepathy would be sheer fun to write.)

Also, I'm pretty sure James gets to play chess with Magneto. And James is a terrible chess player, but by the end of the game, he's talking to Erik, so that's a win ( ... )

Happy Easter! I've spent most of the day um... screen capping Johnny's apartment from Penelope. And eating chocolate eggs.

Also, love the crack fic idea. So, yes please. /grabby hands. :D

Lovely song, at least from the lyrics. I'll have to give it a listen in a bit. Currently have the sound off on my comp because when you slow down video in order to screencap it, it sounds weird and is easier to just shut it off. hehe.

And Happy Easter to you, dear! :-) And those things sound like a perfectly good way to spend a holiday. (Gosh, I really need to watch Penelope again. It's been too long.)

There seems to be a consensus that I should attempt this fic. I have no idea HOW this whole thing actually happens, mind you, but I do already have some mentally-written bits of dialogue...

It's such an Erik/Charles song, honestly. The regret is just palpable, in his voice, in the music, in the words. :-/

I've watched Penelope too much I think sometimes. But it was the first movie after XMFC that I watched with James in it, where nothing terrible bad happened and it has a happy ending and his character doesn't die (like he has a habit of doing).

I always love the ideas I come up with and then the "okay, how do I pull this off? why does this happen? what's going on?" part of fic writing. It's what I'm currently doing with DSV and Johnny/Paul and a few things for daughter!au. hehe.

Oh, it really is. :c

Seriously! Not that James doesn't die tragically and beautifully, but...I want to see him end up happy, sometimes! (I've only seen it in its entirety twice, but sometimes watch random bits when I want to smile.)

The ideas are the easy part! It's making them behave that isn't as much...

I'm also going to use the song "Laid," by, appropriately, the band James, at some point. I think it's an Erik/Charles song. There's cross-dressing, and conflict, and love. Ah, nineties one-hit wonders. :-)

how do you all feel about total crack-fic in which Charles and James accidentally switch places for a day and miraculously solve each other's romantic problems...?

I feel YES!

Yes, then? *grin* I already have some fantastic Charles-and-Michael and James-and-Erik dialogue in mind. Just saying...

Also, I totally just wrote you a VERY LONG response to your other reply. :-)

That fic sounds awesome. It's the sort of thing that tends to be WAY TOO HORRENDOUSLY AWKWARD for me, but I think it would be okay if you wrote it. :)

Thanks for the faith in me! :D :D

I know, I am rather worried that it'd be too...cute, or silly, or something, but...I do end up always writing ALL THE EMOTIONS, right? And I kind of want to try. Might fail miserably, of course, but won't know unless I make the attempt! :-)

And Happy Easter to you, love! :-)

There seems to be a consensus, so crack-fic might have to happen. Oh, so many works-in-progress... *grin*
