Felicitations, if you celebrate, or even if you don't. And, drat, it is Easter, and I've not written anything for this month's holiday Erik/Charles yet. (Which is probably Father's Day, by the way. Pretty sure. Really pretty sure.) (Um, in case you missed it or you just want something seasonally appropriate, last month's holiday fic was, in fact,

Ye-es...I'm almost not sure I want the telepathy to come along with him. For one thing, because that would make things a little too easy (as the only mutant in 'our' universe, Charles could pretty much do whatever the hell he wanted, including simply convincing everyone that he isn't James and walking away and not bothering to talk to Michael), and also because that'd be extra dislocation for Charles, if mutant abilities just don't exist over here. (Also, James dealing with sudden telepathy would be sheer fun to write.)

I'm working on the Fortnightly challenge, right now, which is set to "The Reasons" by The Weakerthans, which was on our wedding playlist. They're one of my favorite background paper-writing music bands. And you have to love a band that names a song "Our Retired Explorer Dines With Michel Foucault in Paris". *grin*

Melancholy and nostalgic with regret is so exactly them. ...what made us think that we were wise/ and we'd never compromise... Oh, BOYS. :-/
As some sort of antidote, I also have "Laid" (the version by, oh-so-appropriately, James) (er, the band, not the McAvoy! though now I'm trying to imagine him singing it...) on the Erik/Charles playlist, mostly for the conflict, the crossdressing, the sense of fun, and the "when are you coming home?"
Part three of the Continuation hopefully this afternoon, after I finish answering student emails...
