Here're the Erik/Charles two, plus one Brandon Sullivan/Johnny Martin, because, well, someone asked, and I'd actually never written a McFassy character pairing (Erik/Charles doesn't count) before! The McFassy fic will go up in the next post. :-)

Life isn't perfect for them, yet, but they're complementing each other's strengths and shoring up each other's weaknesses, and that's something. :-)
We're finally caught up on Doctor Who! Hooray. :-)

Ooh! Have now read, and it's so much fun! And I just want to hug James, at the end; am reminded of the line in the novel about how grief turns Buttercup from a pretty girl to, truly, the most beautiful woman in the world... And there will be more, yes? With Dread Pirate Michael? because that is all kinds of yes. And thank you!! :D :D

And I still adore the Charles/Erik ones, especially the Dorian Gray AU one. One of my favorite stories.

I'm still not entirely convinced I properly 'see' that pairing, either, but I got myself to write it by thinking about how they would understand each other, and Brandon's wanting to be a jazz musician. So they've got that, at least: Johnny can be his new obsession, but that gives Johnny the support he needs to pursue music...or something like that! :-) And yay, I'm glad the characters came through, at least--I know you're a Johnny fan, and so am I; he's interestingly complicated, and he's got a good heart. So I'm glad I could do that justice, on initial try!
I find Wilde both witty and a bit too cynical, generally speaking. I've only read Dorian Gray once, and I kind of felt about it how I felt about Trance: glorious work, provocative, decadent, artistic; but now I feel depressed about the state of humanity... Still, the language ( ... )

No, not enough for me either! That was partly why I made them both *recovering* in my ficlet; I do think they can understand and support each other if they've already gotten to be strong individually, but it'd be awfully difficult for them to pull each other up while still fighting. The music just gave them a common anchor. :-)
I like the plays better, I think. Wittier lines, and (sometimes) less cruel. We did Ernest in school and read lines out loud, and it was fun. (Ah, *those* classmates. There's always at least one. Cue teacherly ire...) And I like the idea of Charles as a more sympathetic Dorian--he'd try to live forever, not out of vanity or cynicism, but in order to go on helping people!
