[ XXXV | Audio ]

I found something interesting in one of the books tucked in the back of the library. For once, I think this is something that would be pretty interesting for all of us to do. So I don't mind Haruhi is making me announce it on the network this time.

It basically goes like this: I'll read a short story from this book, and you as the audience decides ( Read more... )

haruhi is making me do this, keep him away from books, haruhi, psychology time, koizumi, guilt test, koizumi what do you think

I would reverse the Prince and Princess simply because, as you said, the Prince had the most free will in the matter.

The princess herself was terrified, irrational and it was night so I doubt it's entirely her fault she saw the sign. People aren't able to be rational at all times, especially just escaping a situation where she was almost raped.

I guess. Then again, if she had somewhere else, who's to say she wouldn't have ended up dying some other way? Maybe no matter where she fled to, the story would still end up with her being dead.

It's a stupid story. People shouldn't be treated like property just because it's convenient for someone to use them as a bargaining chip.

I wouldn't exactly say the story went so far to say people were being treated like property.

So the order is in most guilty, but not who would feel most guilty?

Bull, Princess, King, Prince.

That's what it says--I guess because those two mindsets would spur two different sets of answers.

Care to explain your reasoning?

Simple, if it's not about who should feel guilty.

The bull is most guilty because it actually killed her. There is no way around it, it killed, thus is guilty of it. The princess is second because she ignored the warnings. The king is third because he married her off when she protested, the prince is last because all he did was marry her, no one told him no. He's the most passive person in the affair.

I guess if you look at it that way, you'd be right. Although I'm not sure if this thing has a a "right answer" page.

Although I disagree about the Prince being the most passive. Depending on whether or not Celestine actually told the Prince she didn't love him, he could have decided not to ask for her hand in marriage. He could have prevented this whole thing.

Curious about everyone's thought patterns?

Even if that's true, I didn't exactly have a choice.

You could say that. It's just for fun, though.

You analyse people just for fun.

When you put it that way, I guess I do. It's not like I'm forcing people to answer, though.

The princess, the prince, the bull and then the king.

The princess should have paid attention to where she was going, and spoken up about her dislike. The prince shouldn't have pushed himself on her if she didn't like him. The bull was the one who actually killed her, the king was only following the rules.

I still wonder whether or not she would have ended up dead no matter where she ran off to....

But, I do see your point.

She could have simply not fled. Or, organized her leaving better. If she knew she didn't want to be married to him, she could have properly planned in advance.

Properly planned? What are you suggesting? That she go and find someone else to marry first? Wouldn't that end up with her in the same situation? Unless she's incredibly good at falling in love fast.

[It's clear from her voice that she had trouble understanding all that]

protocol? consummate? distraught?

I'm not sure if I caught it all, but...

The Princess and Bull are both innocent, the bull a little more so, because sign was a warning that the Bull was a danger, The bull had no warning that the Princess was not.

The Prince is the most guilty [because he's a jerk] and should have...[Respected the Princess...er...] Not have made the Princess marry him.

And the King should have protected the princess, like, told the prince yes but then be sneaky let the Princess run away from there instead of the Prince's home. She might have been okay then, and the Prince couldn't blame the king for what she had done right?

I... probably should have put it all in text, shouldn't I have?

I'm impressed with your answer though.
