Tags Amy and Jamie had just seated themselves at the counter of their favorite bar in Greenwich Village, the redhead ordering the first round of drinks and offering to pick up the tab for the night. After they’d finished their first round of shots, straight tequila for each of them, Amy ventured to ask about the hostility between Jamie and Chris.
“As I’d mentioned in the elevator, Chris and his stupid cousin picked on me, made fun of me and teased me constantly at summer camp. It was mostly his dumb cousin, but Chris participated on occasion and never tried to stop it, either.”
Amy nodded, motioning for the second round to start, the two women easily slamming back the shots. And with the empty shot glasses in front of them, they turned on their bar stools so they were facing the bar area.
They were well aware as to what Chris and Alex were capable of in terms of pranks, the four DJs having played numerous on-air and internet pranks against each other in the span of three years that they’d been rivals.
“You went to college in the city, right?” Jamie asked her friend, “I’m sure I’ve asked you before, anyway.”
“I went to NYU,” Amy replied, “so, I haven’t moved very far, after staying in the dorms on campus and now living in the Village. But I like it here.”
The blonde woman nodded, starting to say something when her jaw dropped slightly at the two newest arrivals to the bar. “First they’re in our radio station and now they’re in our bar?”
Amy looked over as well, the redhead making a face, “just because they’re in here doesn’t mean we have to talk to them.”
“Except for the fact that they’re coming over here?”
Jamie turned back around, signaling to the bartender for their third round just as Alex and Chris joined them. First the brunette took a seat, asking what they were drinking. And when Amy replied that they were about to start their third round of tequila, Chris decided that they should catch up on shots.
Once they’d caught up on shots, Jamie and Amy were more than ready to get the third round going, a simple countdown of ‘3,2,1, drink’ spoken by Alex before the four shots of tequila were downed in near unison.
“All right, big shot,” Jamie slipped down from her bar stool, a challenging glint in her eyes and directed towards Chris. “Me, you and the pool table. Let’s go.”
“Kinky,” Alex quipped, “never would have pinned you as an exhibitionist.”
Amy and Jamie slapped the back of his head for that, the blonde woman grabbing Chris by the elbow and not giving him much of a choice in playing a game of pool with her.
