Summary: Follows the post-college life of a group of friends over the course of a year in a Santa Monica apartment complex.

By the persuasive power of free food, Alex and Amy recruit Punk’s roommates in on the prank… Cena and Orton letting the two troublemakers into the apartment so they can access Punk’s bedroom and also agreeing to keep their roommate out of the apartment until later that evening.
After filling water balloons with pudding and flour, they rig the items to string that they’ve set up around Punk’s bedroom, a primitive trip wire of sorts but with potentially disastrous results. Above the door is a bucket filled with water designed to help the flour stick better.
Once their handiwork was complete, they retreated to Amy’s apartment, the redhead sorting photos into albums while Alex played video games. Trish was across the hallway and Tyson at his second job, leaving the pair with the empty apartment.
Alex and Amy are well aware of what can happen with a prank of this nature, Punk having pulled the same prank on them when they were 16 and in a rush to spend some time alone.
Back then, she wouldn’t have put a label on what they had because they were teenagers and not one of them had ever dated longer than two months. The redhead had been aware that Alex had numerous girlfriends, but she’d never asked and he never said anything.
And as far as she could recall, because of the nature of their relationship, jealousy had never been an issue.
“Who’s that?” Alex had taken a break to grab a soda from the fridge, peering over Amy’s shoulder, most of the pictures he recognized because he was in them or had taken them.
“Shane McMahon, he went to the same school as my cousin Hunter.” Amy put the photo to the side, examining another in the set. “This was taken at his sister’s sixteenth birthday party. Hunter escorted her and I somehow got talked into going with Shane.” Sliding the photo into a slot, she continued, “They moved to France or something after Stephanie graduated, I think. Hunter would know.”
“Gotcha,” the brunette replied, setting a bottled water on the coffee table for her. “Just curious, hadn’t seen him before.”
Amy nodded, sliding another photo towards him, one that Alex recognized immediately. This particular photo had been taken on the second day of their three day weekend in Santa Cruz. They’d visited the Boardwalk on that particular day, riding on the carousel in an attempt to reenact Lost Boys.
“You don’t need this one?”
Amy shook her head, “it’s already in my scrapbook that I made for my senior year project at Malibu High.”
Alex arched an eyebrow, “you made a scrapbook?”
Amy nodded, handing him another photo from the Santa Cruz set. “Yup… pretty sure I’d told you about that. I was supposed to chronicle my happy years of high school, the art teacher’s words, not mine.”
He smirked at that, “so naturally I’m in there a lot, right?”
She rolled her eyes, “about as much as A.J.” A pause, “and speaking of A.J I need to make a copy of this for him.”
“I thought it was illegal to hike to the Hollywood Hills sign?”
“It is.”
“And you’re telling me that goody two shoes A.J broke the law to do this?”
“He did.”
Alex almost looked impressed, “not bad… not too bad at all.”
Amy grinned, “We kept talking about going back after college graduation but never got around to it.”
He wiggled his eyebrows, “why not tonight? We’ve got nothing better to do.”
Amy doesn’t have to think long about that, putting the photos away for the time being.
