Memories The following day, Trish and Jamie meet with Lance Storm, the property inspector Chris and Josh’s firm. He carefully checks over all aspects of the building, closely inspecting the foundation for stability along with the wiring and plumbing before giving his assessment to the two sisters.
“The overall property is useable, the foundation solid and up to current standards, sound and earthquake proof. Each of the three buildings has separate basement storage. The building to the left was previously outfitted with numerous custom shelving units adequate for a small bookshop, craft store or toy store. The building to the right was previously outfitted as a café and nightclub and provides an adequate kitchen and bar, in addition to comfortable occupancy for 200 along with a bathroom area. The middle building provides the most open workspace, an industrial kitchen, bathrooms and a dining area. Naturally, paint, carpeting, furnishings and decorations will need to be touched up and purchased but otherwise I see no problem as to why the buildings cannot be immediately used. As you can plainly see, there is an adequate parking lot and the property is also accompanied by a three story garage two blocks down.”
Jamie and Trish exchanged a look mixed with relief and surprise after digesting that information, the older of the two sisters politely thanking Lance while Jamie called Amy to arrange a meeting at the bank.
At least two of their plans were settled but now they had to figure out something for the old bookstore.
Jamie and Trish were just about to head off to meet their cousin when they were interrupted Josh and Chris arriving to the property.
“Sorry we’re late, we got held up with another appointment,” Chris explained, fidgeting slightly. “Can we make it up to you?”
“That’s really not necessary,” Trish replied politely, “we already have plans with our cousin.”
Jamie sent her sister a sidelong pleading look, “but we will be free after that, maybe we could meet up for drinks or something later?”
Josh grinned, “That would be great. I’ll text?”
Jamie smirked, “if that’s your way of asking for a girl’s number, you’re going to have to work on your methods…” She reached into her pocket for a business card, quickly scribbling a number on there. “But I’m in a good mood, so there you go…”
Trish and Jamie left before Chris could get another word in, he and Josh watching them go.
