On Monday evening, Amy found herself at the IKEA store in Burbank with Christy and Hunter; the two sisters shopping for Christy’s bedroom and Amy’s apartment while Hunter was only there to help them transport smaller furniture to the complex. At the party yesterday, their grandmother and Aunt Lisa had provided them with pre-paid credit cards to use for the new furnishings.

“Okay,” Christy breathed in deep, “where do we start?”

“Beats me,” Amy replied, “you told mom you needed all new furniture for your bedroom, didn’t you?”

Christy nodded, “I had to sell off my furniture so I could pay back my student loans.”

Amy nodded in turn, “makes sense… I told Ty and Trish that I would look for curtains, a new living room set, and shower curtains.” Frowning slightly, she continued, “plus, I need to get a new nightstand, a desk and figure out something for my closet space… oh and lamps.”

Hunter rubbed a hand over his face, “when you two are ready? I’ll be over there,” he pointed to the IKEA Restaurant. “Come get me or text me when you’re done shopping.”

The two sisters nodded before splitting up, Christy heading towards the bedroom department while Amy was checking out textiles. Hunter, meanwhile, made friends with a magazine and a plate of food; waiting for his cousins to finish the lengthy process.

“Okay, we need a shower curtain, new towels… that rug would look great in my bedroom,” Amy spoke aloud, filling her cart slowly as she walked.

Elsewhere in the store, Christy was deciding between two beds, holding a catalogue in front of her along with a red sharpie to mark her choices.

Nearly two hours later the two sisters approached their cousin to inform him that they were ready. Hunter was then given some of the bags to carry out to the parking lot, Christy and Amy speaking with a store clerk to give him their address so their furniture could be delivered the next day.

“All right,” Amy spoke as they all got into the SUV, “a deal’s a deal… you helped us, I buy you a steak dinner.”

Hunter scoffed, “tonight you can be a big ass ice cream sundae. I’ll take a rain check for the steak dinner.”

“I’ll treat,” Christy said and then buckled herself in. “But only if we stop at the complex first so we can drop off the bags.”

Their blonde cousin rolled his eyes but agreed to the request, heading to the complex first.
