Amy bent to tie her shoelaces, the redhead standing on the sidewalk while she waited for her jogging partners. Jamie, Trish and Eve were supposed to meet her on Tuesday and Thursday mornings, a tradition that Jamie, Trish and Amy had kept since their freshman year of college. Eve had been invited to join in, with the invitation extended to all current roommates as well.
“What the hell are you doing up this early?”
Amy stood, glancing back to find a half awake A.J blinking at her sleepily. “What does it look like? I’m going for a jog, silly. What are you doing awake?”
A.J scowled, “someone bullied me into taking the opening shift at the Sports Club.”
Amy rolled her eyes, “you know, A.J. at some point you’ll need to grow a set and tell my brother to back off.”
Something akin to a pout made its way to A.J’s face, causing him to look even more boyish. “For your information it wasn’t Tyson… it was Trish.”
“And that makes it so much better,” Amy drawled sarcastically. “When did you see Trish?”
“Fifteen minutes ago, she said something about it being too damn early and wanting to sleep in today…”
Amy sighed, “Well that explains why she isn’t here…”
A.J rubbed the back of his neck, “I saw Jamie in the hallway, Eve too… I’d come with y’all but well; now I have to work.”
“I’ll see you later,” Amy replied and then resumed stretching when A.J left.
“Now that is a sight I wouldn’t mind seeing every morning.”
Amy bristled slightly, giving an affectionate pat to the Labrador mix that had appeared by her side. “Since this one is Snarl, I’m going to assume that’s Randy…” Turning, she confirmed her suspicions. “Can I help you?”
Randy nodded down to the dog, “taking him for his morning walk… where are you headed?”
“Waiting for Jamie and Eve so we can go for our morning jog.”
A smirk, halfway between scheming and charming, lifted at the corners of the tall brunette’s face. “Punk and John should be down in a few, if you wouldn’t mind the company.”
Amy half shrugged, “suit yourself, but only if you can keep up.”
Minutes later, Cena, Punk, Jamie, Eve, Christy, and Alex appeared; Jamie, Eve and Amy informing every one of the intended route before they set off.
