He'd greatly appreciate that, I'm sure. [Offering a little smile.]

...and as a fair enough warning, I'm a complete novice when it comes to this sort of thing.

What's a Quidditch?

Ah, well.. It's not a thing, it's a game. A wizard game to be more specific. Each team has seven flyers--oh, they're on brooms mind you, and three different types of balls. The team who scores the most wins, and the game's over when the seeker catches the snitch. Loads of fun.

My recently departed friend wanted to start a team here, but that departure thing threw a bit of a wrench in it.

Wizard game? Like, magic?

[Blinkblink.]

Wait, wait, wait. Flying...on brooms?

Yes--is there another type of wizard? I'm unaware of it.

[A-ah, yes, this would be rather foreign, wouldn't it?]

Yes, the Diagon Alley in Nostalgia Nook has them. They cost a bit more--lucky James got them free while he was here.

[Have a foreigner's attempt at British English.]

What sort of match is this now?

It's a rather fun game, played on brooms. The point of the game is to score more points than the other team, but it all ends when the golden snitch is caught. ... The longest game in history lasted three months.

I confess I've never attempted a game on brooms. Are the rules anything like football, then, aside from the apparent lack of a time limit?

[English football, of course; aka soccer]
