It's always nice to rediscover fanfics you'd long lost track of. Ranma 1/2 was really the first fandom I dived into, despite my greater love for all things Sailormoon. Zen's Bitter End is one of the most cited works in the fandom, and takes a very realistic and very dark look at the abusive relationship between Akane and Ranma. Split Personalities

What's even better is realizing that the stuff written years ago in the dark ages of the internet? Yeah, they were a million times better than the current crap.

The author I complained about writes very well; her short stories offered a really neat angle on a side character and it was amazing. Her longer fic, though well-written, is boring and filled with uninteresting OCs. BAH. She should stick to the shortfics and canon.
