I haven't really posted in a while. At least nothing substantial. Twitter posts don't count. So we'll do it in traditional list form. Preview for what's under the cut: sick mom, fall classes, financial aid fail, OMG I LOVE TRUE BLOOD!!! (no spoilers), Breaking Dawn: the end of a saga that goes on for countless pages (I suppose there are spoilers ( Read more... )

Okay, first of all -- TALKING CHIPMUNKS DO TOO EXIST!! Don't they? I'VE SEEN THEM! (in Disney movies)....... uh yeah.

I liked The Uglies. And once you read that, you'll have to read Pretties. And Specials. And Extras was fairly entertaining too. And going by books that have similar covers, I would recommend Skinned (it's by a different author). It kind of reminded me of the premise for Caprica.

Yeah, I still like YA books. Well, I'm young and an adult, so that makes me a young adult, right? Sure, why not?

Look forward to seeing your book list. Right now, I'm reading The Secret History of the Pink Carnation. It's sort of a combination of chick lit and historical romance. It's pretty good.

What spoilers for Dollhouse? *must look* I heard Summer Glau might turn up there. I don't watch True Blood but I know Michael Emerson's wife is on that show. I don't know her full name, just that her first name is Terry (Teri?).

I'm rambling. I should go to bed. :)

Hope your mom feels better soon.

HAHAHA!! I was watching Enchanted. Can you tell (besides the fact that it's listed under what I'm listening to).

Good to hear about the Uglies series. I own it as I'm addicted to buying books and never reading them. I totally love YA books too. Although sometimes I feel weird about walking through that section at the bookstore.

Summer Glau needs a show. Just like Fillion got his show. It would be awesome if she were on Dollhouse. But I too would like to see her play an entirely different character.

thanks, I hope my mom gets better soon.

Oh no! I hope your poor mother gets well soon. :( That's awful.

That SUCKS about your financial aid - I hope that gets sorted out. :\ It also sucks that you can't take any classes in your major. Isn't it kind of wasting a semester? Unless you needed the extra credits, of course. Gah, that sucks.

Also, if you think that imagining Bella sipping blood out of a cup makes you hurl, just wait. Even I was disgusted.

Finally... I'm a little confused. Have you already read The Host, or is it on your "to-read" list? I've had the book since last July, and I was planning on reading it sometime this summer.

I was planning to graduate with my psych degree after fall 2010 but now I'm going to have to push that back. It is like wasting a semester.

Oh no. I'm afraid. Although my friend did say I would like vamp Bella. Now I'm intrigued.

I read the Host and actually liked it a lot better than the Twilight series. It's a more adult novel and the writing is much improved. I really liked the character of Wanderer, even if she suffers from the same insane martyr complex as Bella and Edward do. But the love triangle frustrated me to no end. Probably because my guy never wins in Meyer's world. I would still reccommend it though.

That really sucks! Do you think you could e-mail some of the professors and ask to get in to those classes? If you only need a few and it's going to push back your graduation, I think it would definitely be worth at least trying to get in.

Haha! There were some things I liked about vamp Bella and some I didn't.

Awesome! I'm excited to read it, haha. :)

Jacob! I'm not a fan of Twilight, but Jacob's what got me through the series. It's nice to find someone reading it who's not all gaga over Edward.

Hope your mom feels better soon.

Edward and Bella make me want to smack my head against the wall. Or throw the book. The latter is probably safer. Bella's thing about them being Cathy and Heathcliff is so appropriate. Self absorbed and melodramatic. I read for all the supporting characters. When I finish I know I'll want to write a big ol' post on the series.

Thanks :) I hope my mom gets better soon too.

Agreed. It's odd. I guess I do have to consider myself a fan of the series overall because of how much I love the supporting characters. But I despise both of the main characters, even more so when they're together, and only the blasphemy of abusing a book kept me from chucking Twilight out the window. I could discuss it with pretty passionate opinions, but all the RL fans I've met are too fixated with Edward/Bella to talk about anything else. I don't get it.
