Job Interview

Feb 21, 2014 15:48

Well, I had that second-round phone interview today for an Administrative Assistant 4 position with Wells Fargo in Long Beach. For this round, I spoke with the hiring manager and a Human Resources consultant for a little over a half hour this afternoon. I tend to be a little wobbly and nervous in interviews, but I came away from this one with a ( Read more... )

Well good luck to you! If you made this round, you should be going to the next. I've had a couple of interviews with a couple of rounds. I got this one at the university by the third round! LOL... But I've not been called back either on other older interviews. My son had a weird one from Social Security. He had just graduated. He was offered a job with a company that had given him a special scholarship in college. My son ad applied for the government months ago. And heard nothing. So he accepted the job offer. Then Social Security called him out of the blue with a phone interview. By the end of the phone interview, they hired him! Sight unseen. But he had the degree they wanted. He had worked for the other company exactly one week. He quit. So he's been with the government ever since.

Thank you! This is the farthest I've gotten in the interview process thus far so I am cautiously optimistic. :)

Everybody is nervous in job interviews because they are the worst. But I'm glad it went well for you, and I hope you get called back again. Sending good thoughts your way!

Thank you! Interviews are hard because there really isn't much you can do to prepare - not like an exam where at least you have an idea of what subjects to study. But I am hopeful that this will lead to something good.

Sounds promising! Since you know they will not move immediately, you might want want to be sure to go old school and send hand-written thank you notes in addition to email.

Thanks! And that's a good idea about the hand-written notes. Will be sure to do that on Monday. :)

So glad that you feel good about it! Even if this job doesn't pan out and there's an even better one out there or whatever, you're feeling more comfortable and that's big. (Hope that doesn't sound like I'm not hoping you get this-- totally want you home and employed and every good thing!)

Go you! Wishing all the best and can't wait til you're home with your family and the sunshine!

Thank you! It was nice to come away from at least one interview feeling relatively positive as I almost always come away feeling nitpicky and critical. Not going to lie, I was a bit rusty before, as I hadn't had many interviews over the past two years - but the three previous phone interviews over the past month got me back in shape, I guess!

I can't WAIT to be home with my family soon. :)
